In the quest to reach out to Kenyan Community in Zambia and Malawi the Mission maintains a register of Kenya Nationals and urges them to register.  Registration is a free and voluntary service and enables the Mission to build a skills database on citizens abroad.

The information is vital and can be used by the Mission to convey messages to close family members or friends, mentioned in the registration document, in cases where  a Kenya national encounters difficulties or situations which require assistance. The information can also be critical in the event of a disaster or emergency situation requiring evacuation or accounting for nationals safety.  Registration is NOT considered proof of Kenya citizenship. If you apply for any consular services, you may be asked by the mission staff to provide proof of citizenship such as passport or identity card.

Consular officers notarise documents, issue passports, and register children born abroad. Although consular officers cannot act as your legal counsel or representative, they can provide contacts of local lawyers and doctors.

The Kenya High Commission is committed to ensuring that any personal Information received pursuant to the registration process, whether in person or otherwise, is safeguarded against un-authorised disclosure. The data that you provide is subject to the provisions of the Official Secrets Act. This means that the information will not be disclosed to any third party unless you have given us written permission to do so, or unless the disclosure is otherwise needed to assist in the evacuation or provision of emergency service, law enforcement, and administration purposes or pursuant to court order.
