Sophy Kadzo Kombe is currently the Kenya High Commissioner to Zambia. She has held this position since August 2014. During her tenure as Kenya High Commissioner to Zambia, Sophy has proactively ensured that good diplomatic relations are developed and maintained between Kenya and Zambia. Specifically, Sophy has represented the Kenyan government in various fora and meetings in her capacity as the Kenya High Commissioner to Zambia. In addition, she has delivered messages of goodwill on behalf of the government of Kenya. She has also acted as a spokesperson of the Kenyan government in Zambia. She has generally overseen the smooth running operations of the Kenyan embassy in Zambia in her capacity as the Kenya High Commissioner to Zambia.
Prior to her appointment as Kenya High Commissioner to Zambia, Sophy was involved in a number of government projects in Kenya. She was the CDF committee executive member, in charge of monitoring and evaluation at Bahari Constituency. This position enabled her to co- ordinate and implement various CDF projects which championed the needs of women and youth. Sophy also championed the development of the girl child education after being elected as an executive board member of Bahari Girls High School. Sophy has also served the public diligently, in the capacity of national delegates representative of Maendeleo ya Wanawake of Kilifi County. She is also currently the Programe Director of Ganze Community Development Trust, a position she has held since April 2008.
Sophy is a graduate of the University of Nairobi. She has a degree in Business Administration. She has held senior positions at Harlequin London Limited (Tea Company) and Block Hotels – Mombasa, as Sales and Marketing Manager and Public Relations Officer respectively.
Her 12 years working experience in management enabled her to acquire and develop management skills which have continued to enhance her performance levels in her current position. Sophy has also attended training workshops on leadership and management.
